"I am disgusted by the discovery of a swastika drawn on the wall of a bathroom at Pleasantville High School in Westchester County on Thursday. This vile act of anti-Semitism is especially disturbing as it was scrawled in a building where New York's future leaders go to learn and expect to be kept safe.

"I am directing the State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to assist local authorities in the investigation of this hideous act. I applaud the efforts of the Pleasantville school district for taking steps to educate students and staff about bias and racism through programs with the Anti-Defamation League and the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center to help prevent these incidents from happening in the first place.

"New Yorkers will always stand with the Jewish community in denouncing anti-Semitism and hate in all its forms."
