Statement from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on Yom Hashoah

"Tonight begins Yom HaShoah, when we mourn and remember the more than six million Jews killed in the Holocaust. I join with the Jewish community and people around the world in commemorating this tragic history.

"As hatred surges all around us, we must honor the victims of the Holocaust by speaking out against hate, intolerance and anti-Semitism wherever and whenever we encounter them. Let us recommit to fostering peace and acceptance between all people and focus on improving the world around us. There is no place for hate in New York, and we must ensure the world never witnesses this kind of evil again."
